Polymer Stone Cast Columns
|
|
The WorthingtonStone™ polymer stone
architectural columns are made from
highly durable polyester resin. This
stone column is very unique to the porch
columns industry. The composition of
these cast columns look and feel like
cast stone but weighs 50%-60% less due
to the fact that each of these
architectural columns are made in a
rotary cast mold which allows this stone
column to be made hollow. Unlike our
cast columns, Worthington is able to
offer these porch columns in six
different colors by adding pigments.
Custom colors and designs are also
available in this maintenance free stone
porch columns line. Worthington offers
four load bearing decorative capitals
for the WorthingtonStone™ architectural
columns. Our stone architectural columns

Cast Columns
Cast columns are an excellent way to add low
maintenance architectural columns to your home. Cast
columns are more commonly known as fiberglass
columns. The phrase cast columns simply means that
the columns are casted from a mold. Round cast
columns and square cast columns are both
manufactured from a two part mold. The first step in
making cast columns is to pour the matrix into the
mold and then close the two halves together. The
mold in then rotated in a circular motion for 15
minutes before the cast columns are dry. Once the
cast columns are dry they are removed from the mold
and then sanded and finished and ready to package
and ship. Worthington has the technology to
manufacture plain cast columns and fluted cast
columns. Cast columns are also available with a
fiberglass or polyurethane base. Both the fluted
cast columns and the plain cast columns are
available at custom heights. |
