Architectural Specifications

 1.0 GENERAL

 1.1 DESCRIPTION

A.     Balustrade system shall be WorthingtonCastTM marble & resin composite by Worthington Group, Ltd according to their design number ______________.

B.     Balustrade system shall be manufactured to receive field latex paint finish.

C.     Newel posts shall be Worthington Group, Ltd.  WorthingtonCastTM marble & resin composite design number ____________.

D.     Post caps shall be Worthington Group, Ltd WorthingtonCastTM marble & resin composite design number ____________.

1.2 SUBMITTALS

A.     Submit Worthington Group, Ltd WorthingtonCastTM marble & resin composite balustrade literature.

1.3 DELIVERY STORAGE AND INSTALLATION

A.     Storage and installation shall be according to manufacturer-supplied instructions.

B.     Balustrade components shall be protected from damage prior to and during installation.

 2.0 PRODUCTS

2.2 MATERIALS

A.     High quality marble and fiberglass reinforced polyester resin composite.

B.     All fasteners shall be non-corrosive.

C.     Structural Performance: Balustrade system when properly installed shall meet or exceed BOCA testing criteria.

D.     Moisture Resistance: .001

E.      Ultraviolet: Properly finished system is not susceptible to ultraviolet degradation.

 3.0 EXECUTION

 3.1 INSTALLATION

A.     Follow manufacturers detailed installation instructions using recommended adhesives and caulks.

B.     Protect all balustrade components from damage during the installation process.

C.     Manufacturer shall furnish its standard installation kit. All other materials necessary for installation to be supplied by the installing contractor.

 3.2 INSTALLATION KIT   

A.     General: Hardware and fasteners shall be non corrosive.

B.     Balusters/Newel Posts: zinc-coated threaded rod and concrete anchors for concrete application, or threaded wood inserts or toggle nuts for wood application; washers; hex-head nuts.

C.     Railings: Tapcon hex screws; cellulose PVC board fillet, galvanized L-brackets.

 3.3 WARRANTY

A.     Manufacturer shall furnish a Limited Lifetime Warranty that it’s WorthingtonCastTM marble & resin composite balustrades shall be free from defects in material or workmanship.
